Ole Miss First

Addressing the University’s greatest need —providing a scholarship to every deserving student — the Chancellor has set a goal of 100 million dollars for the scholarship endowment by 2006.  In a time when private funding is essential to the growth and well-being of higher education, the entrepreneurial initiative rekindles the emotional family ties of alumni and friends to the institution as a reminder that a strong family educates its youth so the values and traditions live on and that each future member can reach individual human potential and contribute to a better world.  Ole Miss First families possess a core value of family philanthropy  - giving beyond themselves to something they believe in, thus providing a scholarship to every deserving student is a direct step in taking care of the relationship with the next generation of the Ole Miss Family.  It’s a family matter.
